~ What age is the best time to start puppy training?
We encourage you to enroll a puppy in our positive basic obedience class at 8 weeks of age. 8-14 weeks is the most advantageous window of opportunity in a pups life.
~ Can dogs of any age benefit from the Home Companion Class?
Absolutely! Dogs of all ages are teachable spirits. Learned, unwanted behaviors, can be reversed and changed following class instruction and consistency at home.
~ Does what I feed my dog matter?
Ohhhh Yes! Along with overall wellness and a strong immune system, inferior food can effect the dog’s behavior. Are you meeting your dog’s chewing needs. Does your dog eat dirt or chew wood? All these things are food related. Setterwoods Dog Training carries a variety of healthy and safe, training treats, dog foods and edible treats that meets dogs chewing needs. ~ Why do I not need to bring my dog to the first class?
The dogs do not come to the first class so that registration papers can be completed and a full explanation can be presented to students. This would include discussion on diet, preventive and safety measures, what to bring with your dog for the next week, homework handouts, treat samples, dog's chewing needs, body & mind training and much more.
~ What can I expect my dog to learn as far as learning tricks?
